Coupons Are Bank Account Saviors

coupon

I was never a believer in the whole coupon clipping fad until recently. A friend of my boyfriend’s mother showed me how coupons work and just how much you can actually save. She is like a serial coupon clipper, buying in bulk, searching for the week’s coupons once they come out, has files and binders to sort them, etc. This woman knows just how to use them that she even makes money at the grocery store at times. However, I like to find a few here and there and save when I can. So if you don’t have time to clip away and file them, don’t sweat it. Finding and using coupons every so often still helps you conserve your bills.

Below are some websites for grocery coupons:

Don’t Do Delivery, Save Money and Bake a Pizza at Home

Pizza is always a quick and easy go to when you have had a busy day and it is that one meal the whole family will agree with. Delivering pizza or even picking up a pie can rack up the dollar bills though. You get charged a delivery fee and have to tip on top of the pizza price. Now, I know we choose to order pizza because we don’t feel like cooking ourselves but baking a pizza at home is simple, inexpensive, and is a fun activity for children, if you have any.

Here’s my dough saving pizza recipe:

What You’ll Need:

1 bag of fresh pizza dough ($0.88)

1 jar of pizza sauce, 14 oz. ($1.48)

1 bag of shredded mozzarella cheese, 8 oz. ($2.48)

Choice of toppings

Baking sheet or pizza stone/pan

Directions:

Pre-heat oven to 450°

Roll out pizza dough ball into a flat circle on choice of pan so it forms the shape of a 10″ pizza. Sprinkling flour on the dough and on your hands will make this process easier.

Knead your fist around the outer edge of the pizza, forming a little crust.

Spread a layer of pizza sauce onto the dough. How much is up to your preference.

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the sauce.

Now add your toppings. I used diced jalapenos and turkey pepperoni.

For an extra touch, I like to add more flavor by brushing a little butter along the crust of the pie then dusting it with some rosemary spice and garlic powder. Adding other spices like oregano or basil over the cheese and toppings enchances the pizza too.

Pop it in the oven for about 18-20 min. or until crust is golden brown.

Cut it up and enjoy!

Less than $5 for that bad boy (not including toppings). That’s as much as the delivery charge they hit you with. Start baking your pies at home and your wallet will thank you.
